We have created the new section “Places of solus”!
Sometimes, it may have happened to us to visit special places that are able to make us reflect or even meditate. Perhaps, these places may be capable of evoking past times. Then, our soul may be profoundly hit by them, and it is possible that we even manage to perceive a sense of fullness, which makes us foretaste a little of that infinity we keep on searching.
Well, in this new section of our blog we will present these places, which have the peculiar characteristic of being both almost out of time and capable of freezing the time flow in an experience of eternity.
As first special place to discover, we have chosen “The Sanctuary of the Holy Savior” in Castelchiodato, near Rome.
From the road that connects Castelchiodato to both Mentana and Monterotondo, at the end of a rural road, one can reach a small church dedicated to the Holy Savior. The exact date of its construction is not known but the church already existed in 1500, where an ancient hermitage / convent of the Basilian monks was located. The church, of small size, in the center of the presbytery wall has a wall altar, surmounted by a shrine containing a recently created image representing the icon of the Holy Savior, the original of which is placed in the parish church of the Trasfigurazione di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo in Castelchiodato.
